Training Practices

To be an approved Training Practice (TP), certain criteria need to be achieved as required by the RCVS. These include a range of facilities, equipment and staff support arrangements in addition to H&S procedures and an assessment of caseload volume.

In Practice training & assessment

RVNs or MRCVSs in the workplace provide significant on-the-job training as part of their Clinical Coach role, with development & assessment of practical skills that are the basis of the qualification. These are the Day One Competencies & Skills as determined by the RCVS and are integral to the qualification. Progress and ultimately competency in these skills is assessed and recorded on the student’s e-portfolio.

KSVN provide initial Clinical Coach Skills training and, as part of the Primary Centre service, ongoing Clinical Coach Standardisation events to ensure this is supported.

If you are working in a veterinary practice and wish to be considered for approval as a Training Practice, please contact us.
