Course Details

The Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing course runs over 2 years and a term, with students attending the training centre one day a week during term time, whilst working & receiving training support in an approved Training Practice.  Students will cover the theory & practical activities required to pass the internal tests and external assessments of the course, which are progressed with set targets & deadlines.

We enrol two new cohorts per year - a September start and a February start. Employees nominated by the employer as potential veterinary nursing apprentices and who have the required entry qualifications are interviewed by the KSVN team. If successful they are given an enrolment appointment preceding the start to the academic year. Applications taken on a first come, first served basis.

New for 2026: We are soon to offer the Level 2 Certificate in Veterinary Care Support (pending approval). This course can be used as a science alternative for entry on to the Level 3/VN qualification (with the addition of maths and English). It is also a useful introduction to the basic client and patient care topics for staff who do not wish to progress to RVN status, but want to obtain a better understanding of their job. The course will run over 12-14 months and will be a mixture of in-person and online. We plan to enrol each October.

Apprenticeship funding is available for all employed students.
